On this episode of Come Rain or Shine, Nate Clayberg, Founder of Career Adventure Academy, joins the show to discuss his role as a student mentor and career coach.
An economic developer at heart, Nate unpacks his path to education and why he loves advising youth on career possibilities beyond graduation. With many assessment tools in existence, Nate’s goal is simple: To help students discover their giftings and envision their future for a purposeful life.
Granted, Nate admits college can be a time for trial and error. However, by providing his resources, Nate hopes to inspire clarity for the next generation of leaders at a younger age.

Many of my guests I met while they were in their careers. In this episode, you get to meet Amanda Lynch, a family friend that I knew as a teenager and followed her life after high school to collegiate swimming at the University of Northern Iowa, and then see her make a choice to move on from the pool to discover life in exercise science and into a world that has helped many seniors live healthier lives through the Fortified Life with the Western Home Communities.
We talk about mental health, making tough choices, and taking advantage of opportunities that don’t always happen as soon as you want them to.

This is a treat for me, as I get to bring one of my career mentors in broadcasting, Bill Jordan, on the podcast. I met bill in 1996 when I interned for Bill & Sheri in the Morning on Mix 101.5 in Raleigh, North Carolina. That experience took me away from Iowa to face reality on my own. Not only did I learn a tremendous amount of things about radio, but I also met Duke Coach Mike K and Darius Rucker from Hootie and the Blowfish.
Today, Bill has retired from the radio business but keeps busy still announcing (you will hear him at the open and close of this podcast), being a grandfather, and started a movement with ‘Embrace the Boom’ that created coffee mugs, YouTube videos and now it has made him an author. - GET THE BOOK
